2.25.11 : Counting My Blessing.. as they say....

I dropped Shea at the ol' elementary school this morning and a friend was dropping off her son, who's in Shea's class at the same time. I called her over to the car, and asked if she was going to
the planned birthday shindig for our friend tomorrow, and told her I wanted to talk to her.....

I am pretty open with my friends about my life, my history, my failures, my successes and my goals. This particular friend is so amazing I think the world of her. She is highly educated, well traveled, and it happened the world threw her this "curveball," as they say...
Her bf's sister passed away, leaving a young son, after a serious drug problem. Her bf and her took this boy in, and she has raised him, as her own. Life has put so much in her way, and she is so strong, and I tell her my problems and she listens so graciously, despite her own.

We went for a 2 hour long walk this morning and talked, and I guess I just wanted to note, that I am very lucky for what I have, sometimes it is not always in my front part of my head, but its there, and I am truly grateful.

2.23.11 - Time Flies When Your Busy As a Bee

I don't mind these busy days, I don't mind the running from here to there.

Spring Break is next month, and I am really looking forward to seeing the family.
I am really looking forward to have birthday dinner at the POPE table at Bucco di Beppo.
I am looking forward to all my hard work paying off.

If I can make it though this semester, summer is almost here!

Long days at the beach. :) I need to get a new camera, find out the when the OB Photo Show is.
We have so much to do.

Guess I'll just get thru this CA TAX homework for now.

2.22.11 : Back Aches, Algebra, Eww

I have so many damn math courses to finish this. Currently, I'm in Math 46 (use to be 95, when YOU were in school), I'm at chapter 7, section 4. There is chapters 8-10 left. After this its
Intermediate Algebra Math 96, College & Matrix Algebra Math 116, Calculus Math 119 & Statistics Math 121. This should take me til Spring 2012. OMGorsh! Talk about leaving the hardest til last!

This will leave me at SDSU to finish my BS in Business Studies and an AS in Accountancy.

Whew. Why? Why didn't I do this when I was in my early 20s like I had some sense?
Oh, that's right, I was a complete idiot with no sense of the FUTURE, I was trapped in my
own little world. I was conceited and thought that nothing effected me. Especially knowing the difference between the usage of effect & affect :)

I pray the girls will know. Shea told me yesterday, that she wanted to live in a dorm at college.
My heart melted, I asked which school she was thinking about, and she said that she wanted
to go to school here in SD. I challenged her, with the whole speech about going to college out of town, and how you still come home on weekends, holidays, etc. I hope she ends up in SFO.

My back hurts because I haven't been out for a work out in weeks it seems. I was sick, then was in Colorado, and now I need to get on it. It seizes up when not properly walked. Heh.

2.21.11 : Errands, How Do They Take The Whole Day?

Presidents Day, Shea had no school, nor did I. She got a lesson in how to clean the bathroom.
I explained to her why she had no chores. Even though I think since she is 10, she should have chores, its just that it seems every waking minute she has this class and that class,.. there is just no room to add "clean the floor." But yesterday, she had time!

She was rather surprised with how much effort it takes to really clean a bathroom!

:) We got the oil changed in the car, went for sushi lunch. It nice to go to lunch with her, we play Mexican bingo, and flashcards of landmarks. :) She knows the difference between the Washington Monument, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Eiffel Tower, etc. Now we're working on where they are located, what the national language is, etc.

We got a new shower curtain too! It is a world map!

Shea did piano lessons, but I am thinking that 45 minutes a week isn't enough.... ;(

2.20.12 : Lazy Sundays

It is amazing to have a whole day of nothing. We got up, nuzzled a bit, and took a drive out to Viejas to the Vans store. Mikee got a new pair of zapatos, and got me a few new shirts. We cruised around out in the country. We paid off our new mattress, we had had on layaway! wOOt!
I want a new bed frame too, but Ikea could not produce one I like. I needs to be black, plain, have drawers underneath, and a boring black headboard. Drat!

I've been working for a non-profit, filing tax returns for low income families. I like it, its been
an eye-opener. There was a lady yesterday, a single mom, with SIX sons, her AGI was only 10K, I I wonder how on early does she get thru? The baby was a year, and her oldest was 22, the lady was only 40. I am however, using more and learning more Spanish.

We also went to Mitsuwa today, I love that store. Its an Asian market, with little stores inside.
I found daruma dolls I wanted, and was yelled at for taking a picture of a story behind the daruma doll. Ya, I was chastised in by a little Asian lady. :)

We driving a rental, Mikee's trucks in the shop getting fixed. Its a Toyota Corrolla not too bad, for a brand new car with 1500 miles. However, it does drive way too fast!

We're off to Miss Molly casa!

2.20.12 : I Totally Forgot

About this here blog. I'm so tired of Facebook, due to lack of blogging.

I got up early this morning, Mikee is hollering at me from the other room. I am looking forward to
finishing my coffee, showering, and starting the days errands. I think we're going to pay off the new mattress. I was so impressed with the furniture store, low pressure sales tactics, and an easy to live with layaway plan. Maybe we can get a new couch next, for Loki to scratch up :(

I want to look at new bed frames at Ikea too.

Henry's birthday is Wednesday, my job was to get the pinata, and boy oh boy did I!!!!
I got the most bad ass authentic Mexican Spiderman pinata EVAH!

Its Sunday, I got soo much to do! I'm OUT!
