Dengue Fever @ the Casbah

Friday, after school, we took Shealyn down to Old Town for dinner at Rockin' Baja Lobster. I thought it was funny that all the ladies who worked there resembled JWOWW.
Their nachos got NOTHING on Casa de Loma!
After Shea left with her pop for the weekend, we trollied down to the Casbah for some Dengue Fever! We had such a great time, got the new record and got it autographed. The Casbah was full of little Asian ladies, which was a nice change from the Casbah being filled with smelly sweaty punker guys! Good times!

I am looking forward to the 94.9 Independence Jam with the Cold War Kids!

What? No Earthquake?

After last years Easter earthquake, I was a little let down this year, when all we got was a cold cloudy misty day....

We have started our new family tradition of the Kiwanis Sunrise Service at Cabrillo National monument. This year, we wore our warm pajama pants and no one seems to care.
Shea didn't even complain this year about the whole 6am thing, she is getting use to it. Besides, Easter is only once a year.
We had Easter brunch again at Tom Ham's Lighthouse, what a great place! They do not skimp on the lobster claws, only the au jus this year. :) I hope next year Maria, Megan and little Addy can join us!

Water for Elephants

I forget which of my friends told me to read this book, which it was a nice 2 day read and I enjoyed it, as I do with a quick love story :) I was excited for the movie, we all went opening night. I lucky to have a better half whom goes to see the occasional chick flick with me! The movie was great to look at, but I hate to say it, but Edward will always be Edward and I can buy nothing else. I also can't see them as a couple, it wasn't what I pictured in my head when I read the book. But, the cinematography was really nice!

Ahoy Addy Ann!

The year is flying by.

School has been kicking my butt and we've been so busy, everything just goes by......
A big thing I miss about my old job, was having the time to sit and update my blog!

Ahoy Addy Ann,

Last month, a few days after Clea Bean left we were looking forward to a nice evening at home, not doing much. We took Shea June to Sports Chalet for a new Paul Frank helmet and we were just gonna pick up some movies, when sister Megan called saying she has gone and went into labor. It was actually kinda funny because we in line at Sports Chalet, and my phone rang, and I denied the call because we were at check out. Then Mikee's phone rang and we looked at each other like "better get it"! Megan wasn't sure if her water broke or not, but with what she said, I would definitely think so. So, as were getting in the car, we're like "does this mean?" and we headed home, with the announcement "20 minutes to pack and were off!"
The ride out to PHX was better than the Thanksgiving trip, no traffic jams! We arrived just after midnight, and at the hospital everyone seems calm and collected. The hard labor was a ways off, so we opted to head to find a hotel. Opting for a Super 8 in Chandler, we accidentally overslept Grandma's call at 5am that the baby was on its way very soon. By the time we got there, Addysen Ann was ready to meet her Uncle Mikee and us. Megan pulled through like a trooper and everyone was happy and healthy.

We stayed at the AZ Grand Resort that day, and it was just about the nicest place I've every stayed. Its had an amazing water park, and we all went down the lazy river and played in the wave pool! That night we had dinner with Grandma Mary at Rustlers Roost, what a great crazy place and a wonderful dinner. Shea and I danced on the cowboy dancefloor, and there were kids all over going to the prom in the fancy get ups, and we rode the slide and saw the bull!

Megan & Addy made it home safe and sound, and that little girl has a lovely home and bedroom to come home to. Including the picture perfect rocking chair!

The next night we stayed at the Wild Horse Pass Indian Casino and Resort, very nice, but .. eh..
The drive home on Monday seemed pretty speedy, and we're planning another trip out soon. I had to explain to Mikee that the baby is going to be growing fast, and he will kick himself he doesn't visit often!
We did stop in the local wacky haunts like the Space Hotel in Gila Bend and some other weird little towns too!
