Day One - Denver to Kansas City

We flew into Denver, the ride was frightening, we circled in extreme turbulence, before finally landing. After muscled were relaxed a wave of applause filled the cabin. We were behind schedule to get started.

After a lengthy rental car issues with overcharging on the drop fee and them only having 5 cars that we could take to Boston and one by one the checked off as unavailable due to expired tags.. Finally, one last Malibu was rented and we headed out as fast as we could go, made one wrong turn due to bad navigation and got to Bean pick up around 2, Auntie Karen quick busy by 3 and hit Cheyenne around 4.

The sun rose gloriously over the Nebraska plains, the girls slept in the back and we make haste across the flatness.  4 dead dears and one dead kangaroo later, we finally broke the news to ourselves that we could go no further. We picked a hotel with indoor pool from a coupon book and headed indoors for some quiet motion free nap time.

The girls and I rose and snuck out for King Kong burger and a quick dip.  My 6 we were on our way to meet the Penny Nichols in Omaha and brother Steve in Harlan.

We got into Missouri around 2 am and hit that wall around 4 and we were going to crash in the car at a truck stop but there was some nomad asking which way we were going, we opted for a smelling hotel instead.  End scene day 1.
