I Love It When
I stay up late and when I wake, I am surrounded by papers full of ideas!
Last night was our Movie Night at the Elementary School, I sat up brainstorming
how next years can be better. I ended up in the Hall light night with the
President & Vice who suggested I become the new President next year,
I declined, but I love love being involved.
I have tons of ideas and I live to see then go into action.

Thanksgiving Blues Meet Thankgiving Endorphins
I get down every Thanksgiving, each year has ultimately sucked.
I get depressed, I miss my family back in Colorado, I would get mad
at the family that I had married into, being such tards.
FIVE siblings and 2 parents alive,
and they still can't organize a fucking sit down meal.
Ugh.
So 2 years ago, we said screw this, and headed to Puerto Nuevo,
we had a blast, we stayed at the Grand Baja, and ended up eating
dinner with the Hispanic family next door, they came down from LA.
The next year, we went to Rosarito, had a good time too.
This year, I just don't feel it.
Mikee n I are driving out to phoenix the next day or that night
or something and I don't wanna be down with the curse. :)
So, I did some research, and I decided to the the Father Joes
Thanksgiving Run!
I think that will make me happy this year.
And Shea can run too!

Donna Frye Wouldn't Shut Down Any Libraries
Residents say "how dare you" to cuts
Another old white man, the same old shit!
May sound stereotypical, however, year after year,
same old shit!
Same old shit!
For everything he said in opposition to Donna Frye
we sure aren't seeing any success!

Fishing n Saving; Ah, America!
We went out fishing off the Shelter Island pier on Tuesday.
What a blast, not that we caught anything but kelp, and fed
most our squid to the pelican, it was just fun.
There was drama when Shea's Sponge Bob kiddie rod n reel
went off the pier, but Mikee saved the day by a quick change of
hook to a bigger guy and he fished it back up, the crying kid
was happy again.
He has told me about how the fisherman have to go our further
n further into the ocean for the bigger tuna's and whatnot. How
its rare to catch anything substantial off the piers.
Commercial fishing frenzy criticized
I wonder if Obama will hit this issue too.
They went to the Fisherguys's store next to my house for squid,
and there Shea found herself a $289 reel that she decided she needed.
:)
Not quite, but she can take a picture of it, pin it to her corkboard
and start saving.
Speaking of, her savings is growing well.
She says to me this morning, "When is my allowance day?"
To which I replied
"Excuse me?, This is a capitalism kid, you get what you earn!"
Being as it may, what you have earned, your payday is the 1st
and the 15th same as mine. Then we went to her white board
in her room and I explained her paycheck for tomarrow.
Perfect spelling tests earn $1
Each mile ran on the early morning Running Team @ School earns 1$
This pay period
Spelling tests 110% ( 2 bonus words) #6, 7, 8
Miles ran : 5-15
She earns $13 from me for her immediate savings
and $13 from her Dad for her bank, which I call her 401k.
I think that for a 7 year old, that is clear, concise and efficient.
Funny, how she will be like "Lets go for YOGURT"
and I'll be like "ok, get your $"
and she will promptly change her mind.
Ah! raising a kid who's tight with her money!
GOOD!

Edit to the Eunich Tracker
I think I might go for an Amigo, its not as ballsy as a jeep but not
anti ballsy as a Tracker. And, there won't be anyway I can haul
camping gear in a Tracker with 2 adults and 2 kids.
a New Goal
Something that I want to do for the year of 2009, it take Shea around on a tour (if you will)
of Churches, Mosques, & Synagogue.
Why? Well, an experiment? A Lesson?
I see so much ignorance around, and alot of it is plain fear of the unknown.
And kids are raised that way. Churches still hold some weirdness for me.
I remember going so Sunday school, and I remember my Mom or Step dad
never going with me. But, the bus would come around, and I'd go.
I remember sitting there, and waiting for something magical to happen,
if I concentrate hard enough, pray hard enough, God will talk to me.
I think more the lesson is now, in sociology. To check out what each
religion means to the people who are there. I am looking forward to
studying up on each sect, then sitting thru a service and comparing
the people and what they believe to each other.
I am putting together my list, and doing the research on which churches to
go to. Also, really looking forward to the Far Eastern churches, the Jewish
synagogue, and of course the Catholics.
We plan to kick this off with Midnight Mass.
So, I have got my list of types to visit, now I need to find the place.
1. Roman Catholic
2. Eastern Orthodox
3. Baptist
4. Methodist
5. Lutheran
6. Jehovah's Witnesses
7. Latter-day Saints
8. Seventh-day Adventist
9. Pentecostal
10. Episcopal
11. Christian Science
12. Quakers
13. Mennonite
14. Zionist
15. United
16. Brethren & Mennonite
17. Islam
18. Hindu
19. Hare Krishna / Vaishnavism
20. Buddist
21. Sikhism
22. Masorti Judaism
23. Reform Judaism
24. Orthodox Judaism
25. Reconstructionist Judaism
26. Bahá'í
27. Jainism
28. Shinto
29. Cao Dai
30. Tenrikyo
31. Rastafari
32. Zoroastrianism
33. Scientology
34. Wicca
35. Asatru
36. Unitarian Universalism
I definitely will need to separate the Christian churches with
the Asian churches. I will definitely hit up people that I know
who go, to let us tag along. Should be an interesting learning
experience for Shea.

A Big Moey Fan
I saw this kid on the news this morning.
I am a now a big fan of his mom Mindy Stombler!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mindystombler/2955253045/
For as MUCH effort as I put into the costumes that I make for Shea,
its not only the costume itself, but did she learn something? Is it meaningful?
While we were trick or treating last night, heads turned at her!
Maybe a quarter of adults got it, but, all could see the effort that went into making
Marie Antoinette! (zombie, of course)
Many people told her that it was their favorite costume, but
the difference between going to Target and buying something vs going to
Amvets and getting an old worn out bridesmaid dress, and sewing it to fit
a 7 year old, and the rest put together with creativity, the Internet and
Buffalo Breathe! We worked for a month and she was able to go door to door
and give a history lesson of France. And THAT was cool.
You heard Mom's explaining to their kids what a guillotine was as they walked by.
I was very proud!
2 Years ago, We were all pizza!
And last year, She was Bloody Mary, Queen of England,
Henry VIII's oldest daughter.
I was very stoked on ALL the kids that were out trick or treating,
and all the grown ups who were dressed up right along with em!
I felt bad for the 8 Snow Whites, and the 10 Cinderellas!
